POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION

The Editorial Board encourages and welcomes academic debate and constructive criticism in post-publication discussions of scientific articles. Such discussions may reveal shortcomings in already published articles, including both major and minor errors that were not identified or could not have been identified during the editorial process.

To minimize the risk of such complications, Editors are obliged to coordinate any changes to the manuscript text during the editorial and publishing process with the Authors, in particular with the Corresponding Author. As an exception, minor editorial corrections of spelling and/or grammar may be made prior to publication without the Authors’ approval.

At the same time, the Editorial Board encourages Authors and Readers to engage actively in post-publication communication, constructive discussion of the results of published research, identifying perspectives for its application, or questioning the argumentation or significance of the article for the advancement of science.

During the discussion of articles (publication of open opinions, forum articles, corrections, critical comments on the published article, and author responses to criticism, etc.), no comment may contain personal insults directed at any Author, Editor, or Reviewer, nor discriminatory remarks, subjective evaluations, and/or assessments of Journal’s work.

Corrections and Amendments

The Journal follows generally accepted rules and Elsevier recommendations regarding corrections of both minor and major errors in published materials.

Minor Corrections

Acceptable and minor errors in a published article that do not affect its content or the scientific integrity of the research (e.g., typographical errors, inactive links, incorrect page numbers in article headers, etc.) may be corrected through the publication of amendments.

This is done by replacing the original PDF-file with a corrected version, accompanied by a correction notice under the “Amendments” tab, with a detailed description of the errors and the changes introduced to the original PDF.

The original PDF-file will be marked with a correction note indicating the availability of the corrected version. The original PDF-file will also be archived and accessible via a link in the same Erratum (Amended) tab.

Major Corrections

Corrections are published when, after article publication, significant errors are discovered that materially affect the research integrity or content of the article.

Such corrections are published as a separate publication and assigned their own DOI.

The decision to publish corrections or amendments is made by the Chief Editor after consultation with the Authors.
