COMPLAINTS AND APPEALS
The Editorial Board considers complaints and appeals in accordance with the recommendations of the The Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE and the Journal’s Ethical Policy
Complaints or appeals should be submitted to the Chief Editor at o.nika@knu.ua.
The Chief Editor may invite two members of the editorial boards of other journals who have experience in handling complaints (appeals) to assist in clarifying the circumstances described in the appeal, resolving disputes, and addressing conflicts of interest in accordance with the Journal’s Ethical Policy.
The priority principles in handling complaints and appeals are: mutual respect for all participants in the editorial process; equal rights for all parties to present arguments in support of or against the stated claims; and seeking to resolve any dispute through compromise and mutual understanding.
In cases of an appeal against rejection of publication (regarding the scientific quality of the article), the Author must provide substantiated responses to the Reviewers’ comments. After analyzing both the Reviewers’ remarks and the Author’s arguments, the Chief Editor makes one of the following decisions: either 1) to reject the complaint due to the lack of grounds for the claims made in the appeal; or 2) to uphold the claims set out in the appeal. The decision is communicated to the complainant with explanations. A final decision to reject a manuscript cannot be reversed or appealed. The Editorial Board does not enter into further correspondence with the Authors of a rejected manuscript after such a decision.
The period for reviewing complaints and/or appeals is 30 working days.
