ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
To ensure the academic integrity observance, the Editorial Board of the Journal Linguistic and Conceptual Worldviews follows the "Regulations on the System of Detecting and Preventing Academic Plagiarism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv" (2020). According to these Regulations, all article manuscripts submitted to the editorial boards of the University’s academic journals undergo mandatory plagiarism screening at the submission stage, prior to consideration for publication.
The Editorial Board uses such plagiarism detection service as StrikePlagiarism.
StrikePlagiarism.com is an international plagiarism detection system developed by Plagiat.pl and operating since 2002. The service supports more than 30 languages and is widely used in universities, research institutions, and publishing houses in over 40 countries. The system analyzes texts for similarity, including translated fragments, and generates an interactive report indicating sources, similarity coefficients, and citations. StrikePlagiarism.com also provides an AI-generated content detection module, integrates with OJS, Moodle, Canvas, and other LMS platforms, and complies with GDPR requirements for personal data protection.
Violations of academic integrity by Authors, Reviewers, and/or Editors may lead to academic accountability, including the following cases:
- rejection of the manuscript with notification of the Author’s or Reviewer’s primary affiliated institution regarding the violation of academic integrity identified during the editorial process;
- removal of an Editor or Reviewer from participation in the Editorial Board of the Journal.
Any individual suspected of violating/non-observing the academic integrity is entitled to:
- familiarize with all verification materials on establishing the fact of violation of academic integrity and provide comments on them;
- present oral or written explanations personally or through a representative, or refuse to provide explanations without justification, as well as participate in the examination of evidence of academic integrity violation;
- be informed about the date, time, and place and be present at consideration of the fact of academic integrity violation and called to academic accountability;
- appeal the decision on academic accountability to the authorized appeals body or to the court (p. 8, Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”).
Cases of “honest error” or differences of opinion are not considered violations of academic integrity.
